The federal government is actively considering establishing a training institute shortly for imparting training to farmers and ginners community of the country, official sources told Business Recorder here on Monday.
They said the step is being taken to impart training to the farmers and ginners to produce and supply contamination-free cotton to the textile industry of the country, adding the proposed training institute would be established out of the Export Development Fund, and the work on this project would be carried out soon.
The training institute would also help the farmers and ginners to fulfil the demands of international standards especially to cope with the WTO regime more easily, sources said, adding the government has also decided to establish industrial cluster at Sialkot, Lahore and Karachi in near future.
Sources said the industrial cluster would be developed in Sialkot for sports goods and surgical instruments, auto-parts, electrical appliances and knitwear, while Karachi and Lahore will be developed for the promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, knitwear and electrical appliance.
The present government is making strenuous efforts for bringing revolutionary changes in industrial sector enabling it deal with global challenges effectively.
The idea behind setting up industrial cluster is to facilitate the small and medium enterprises in Sialkot, Karachi and Lahore.
The ready factory building will be provided on rental or lease basis followed by ownership while die provision of well-developed physical infrastructure and other support services would be ensured in these industrial clusters, sources added.
