As per directives of Inspector General Sindh Police Syed Kamal Shah, Police Helpline (has started an hour-long direct transmission service through FM 101 enabling masses to register their complaints directly with senior police officials present at the radio station.
The programme is being beamed every Saturday from 4 pm to 5 pm.
It was in this regard that Additional Inspector General of Police (Telecom), Muzaffar Ali Sheikh representing the Sindh Police Chief in the first of the series of programme responding to public mentioned that "Public Friendly" approach has been adopted as the top most priorities of the Sindh police service.
He said that special instructions have been given to the provincial police service to ensure courtesy and timely redressal of public grievances.
According to him it was due to personal effort of the Sindh IG Police that Madadgar 15, Traffic Helpline 915 and relay of SOS-HRS from Radio Pakistan besides the FM-101 Police Helpline have been initiated adding that availability of FIR forms at all post offices across the province and community policing was also introduced by Syed Kamal Shah.
It was reiterated that Sindh police is committed to ensure law and order situation in the province in general and Karachi in particular while efforts are also underway to restore mutual confidence between police and community. Karachiites were appealed to contact police authorities on Ph: 111-000-101 on every Saturday afternoon between 4 pm to 5 pm enabling senior police officials to maintain a direct linkage with the masses.
It was said the people requiring guidance or assistance or having any complaint against the police department itself can personal register the same with senior and responsible police authorities.
