Hindko literary function starts on January 6

A Hindko literary function is being held here on January 6 to acknowledge the services of a noted Hindko poet, prose writer and researcher, Maqbool Ajaz Ajazi.
The function is being organised under the aegis of the Gandhara Hindko Board at its central office at Kareemi Plaza, Ashraf Road. The event will start at 6 pm.
Prominent Hindko poets and writers, including Mukhtar Ali Nayyar, Sabir Hussain Imdad, Sadiq Saba, Sabeeh Ahmad, Malik Arshad Hussain and Mohammad Ziauddin will speak on the life and works of Maqbool who started composing Hindko poetry way back in 1968.
Maqbool has two poetic collections - Tara Veera and Bol Malanga - to his credit. Another book of Hindko poetry, Thar Thalli, and a book of Hindko home wisdoms, Kabeetan, will get into print soon.
The poet has carried out research on the Hindko folk music. He has been a Hindko playwright, artiste and calligrapher.
He played an important role in starting Hindko news bulletin from the Peshawar Television in mid-90s.
