Air Marshal Muhammad Asghar Khan (Retd) has favoured the idea of independent Kashmir as a sovereign state and added that it should not organise its armed forces.
Instead it should depend upon its neighbouring countries like India, Pakistan and China.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday he said that Pakistan had lost by attaining nuclear capability. It is an insane and unwise step of Nawaz Sharif who wasted huge funds on this target.
He said that India had four times more armed forces than Pakistan and it can attack Pakistan anytime.
He can pretend by doing a blast in Rajhistan or any other deserted place that Pakistan used nuclear bomb against it and it retaliated in same coin.
He further said that Pakistan was aggressor and it attacked India first since 1948 to Kargil war. In 1965, Pakistan forces intrudes into the occupied Kashmir, consequently India attacked Lahore.
To a question he said that there were no difference between PPP or PML-N and other parties because majority of them served for the interest of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and got huge funds from the agency to weaken the ruling party.
Asghar Khan said that Afghan war was imposed on Dr Najibullah government. He agreed to quit peacefully and Russian forces were going back but General Zia-ul-Haq and his advisors attacked Afghanistan for the pleasure of United States to earn maximum dollars. He said that it was a very blunder mistake, which was taken by previous military regime. He further said that Dr Najibullah told him in Kabul that civil war would erupt and Afghanistan would remain in state of war for next 50 years if it was attacked and its effects would certainly also emerged in Pakistan. Now history had proved that Dr Najib's viewpoint was correct. To a question he said that our country is in the clutches of armed forces and they would rule for a long time because politicians had supported them.
He suggested that strength of regular armed forces must be curtailed considerably and organises a reserve force to meet any emergency because a developing country like Pakistan cannot afford huge burden of armed forces.
