The accountability court has adjourned the hearing on ARY reference against Asif Ali Zardari, former senator and spouse of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto till January 24.
The Accountability Court Judge Ghulam Hussain on Saturday put off the proceedings on the ARY reference without any hearing.
The hearing was scheduled for January 10 but due to the elections of Rawalpindi Bar Association, the case was adjourned.
Dr Babar Awan, the counsel of Asif Ali Zardari was present in the court to argue the acquittal application. None from the prosecution side was present in the hearing.
Like most cases against Asif Ali Zardari, the ARY case is also pending in the court since 1997 and the successive governments have failed to prove charges.
