Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF-Zone) has offered special incentives including 10 percent discount for Pakistani investors and businessmen willing to make investment in the zone.
This offer was made at a seminar 'Investment Opportunities in SAIF-Zone' held here on Monday.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President, Mian Anjum Nisar was the chief guest. Among others Deputy Director General SAIF-Zone Sheikh Saqer Al-Qassimi and Senior Sales Officer, Mohsin Qureshi spoke at the occasion.
The speakers stressed the need for close regional trade relations to face the challenges of WTO era.
According to the offer, SAIF-Zone would give 10 percent discount on first year rentals for those who would place orders during the road shows and complete registration process within next three years.
LCCI Chief Mian Anjum Nisar said that Sharjah is an emerging industrial state of this region, hence Pakistani businessmen and entrepreneurs should take advantage of latest developments in the region.
He emphasised the need for enhanced trade relations in the region to face the post-WTO scenario.
Highlighting the UAE's role in international trade and investment scenario, he stated that Sharjah, being a Muslim state and having geographical proximity, would be an excellent place to set up industries by investors.
Leader of Sharjah delegation, Sheikh Saqer Al-Qassimi, Deputy Director General SAIF-Zone, said that the world has changed into a global village and the big companies with vast management have to maximise its efficiency, minimise cost, build responsive organisations and move closer to its core markets.
He said that Pakistan was the second largest investor in the SAIF-Zone and being a brotherly country, Pakistani businessmen enjoy the common culture and traditions.
"SAIF-Zone has more than 1200 companies from 62 countries, around the world and the annual growth rate of this zone is almost 30 percent," he added.
Mohsin Qureshi, Senior Sales Officer SAIF-Zone, briefed the participants about various incentives and facilities such as executive offices, warehouses, and licensing procedure, available at the Zone.
