All Parties Atomic Scientists Conference (APASC) has unanimously asked President Musharraf to resign on the ground of 'debriefing' against the nuke scientists.
APASC has also set up All Parties' Standing Committee for the release of detained N-scientists besides launching a campaign to topple the government.
The conference, organised by Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (Nifaz-e-Shariat group) at a hotel here on Sunday, was attended by seventeen political parties' representatives including Naveed Chaudhry, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Sahibzada Mufti Ashraf Rizvi, Qazi Abdul Qadeer Khamosh, Mubbashar Hussain Gillani, Manzoor Gillani, Joseph Francis, Dr Sarfraz Naeemi, Mufti Muhammad Khan Qadri, Syed Nobahar Shah, Khawaja Izhar Amritsari, Zulfiqar Qureshi, Hameed-ud-Din Almashraqi, Saifullah Saif, Sahibzada Hasnaat Ahmad Murtaza, I H Rashid, Saeed Aasi, Khurshid Ahmad Khan and Captain Aftab (Retd).
APASC Chairman, Engineer Saleemullah while addressing the conference said if MMA would not have provided constitutional shield to the military-led government, it could not dare to involve the national heroes in false allegations.
He said that if MMA leadership was serious for the redemption of the N-scientists then they should put forward their resignation from their elected seats as a symbol of protest. "APASC will invite MMA to join in the next meeting if they present their resignation," he added.
Saleemullah also announced to quit from Pakistan Ideology Council's membership as a protest against the illegal detention of N- scientists' "Our nuclear programme is under the pressure of International community and the government's weakness and irrational stance will give an opportunity to both the Hindu and Jews to get advantage over this situation," he concluded.
