The Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation , Rauf Siddiqui has urged the overseas Pakistanis to abide by the laws of their host countries and avoid lying as much as possible because the respect of our country lies in it.
Speaking at a seminar on "Immigration UK" held at a local hotel he said overseas Pakistanis were responsible to some extent for the bad image of our country in other countries.
"What we have been doing personally and as a nation in our country, we repeat that in our host countries, which deface the identity of our country and resultantly Pakistanis are not respected," he observed and stressed the people to think over how to regain the "our lost glory."
The minister said there was no example of what the drug sellers have been doing by smuggling drugs in Shalwar Kameez, our national dress. He said this act has defamed Pakistan throughout the world and our people attired in Shalwar Kameez were suspected to be smugglers of drugs.
He urged the Pakistani institutions established in other countries to guide overseas Pakistanis and provide them all necessary facilities.
Besides, he said, as a civilised nation it is our duty to learn respect the values of host countries, abide by their laws and prefer national interest over personal interest.
