District Civil Defence Officer, Muzaffargarh, Munawar Sher Nadeem sealed 10 unauthorised oil agencies but these were de-sealed by the agents and started their illegal business.
Upon this, Civil Defence Officer got registered a case under Section 26/44 PPC, but his act infuriated the Nazimeen of the Union Councils who were patronising these oil agents.
They threatened the CDO for dire consequences if he did not withdraw cases against them and did not let them do work.
Some favourites of District Nazim are also running their unauthorised oil agencies without taking any safety measures.
Those whose oil agencies were sealed are: Malik Amjad Sanawan son of Khuda Bakhsh, Sanawan Town, Safdar Oil Agency Thatta Gurmani,Al-Murtaza Petroleum Service, Tibbi Mochiwali, Rana Khalid Mehmood son of Rana Jamshed Ali Diesel Agency ,Daira Din Panah, Muhammad Riaz son of Mushtaq Petrol and Diesel Agency Ehsanpur, Haji Ashiq Hussain Malik son of Nazir Ahmed Munshi, Ehsanpur, Muhammad Bilal son of Bashir Ahmed Mashori, Ehsanpur, Muhammad Adil son of Noor Hussain, Tasleem Abbasson of Manzoor Hussain Gurmani, Lalpir, Qadeer Hussain son of Ghulam Hussain, Patti Sultan Mehmood.
All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association's General Secretary Jamshed Khan Dasti said that a crackdown against the unlawful oil agencies is necessary because these agencies are involved in selling smuggled and stolen oil and there were no safety measures to meet the fire hazard.
DPO Muzaffargarh Salman Chaudhry said that police is co-operating with the civil defence staff in an operation against the unauthorised and illegal oil agencies and he did not accept any pressure in this regard.
