The Karachi Port handled 102,159 tonnes of cargo including 89,492 tonnes import and 12,667 tonnes export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The cargo comprised of 49,949 tonnes dry and 52,210 tonnes liquid cargo.
Five ships namely Bunga Terasek, Dong He, Kota Wajar, Shalamar and Chem Baltic sailed to sea during the report period.
Eight vessels viz S. Caboto, Sinar Bontag, Apl Portugal, Conti Asia, Naga, Barge Jackson Vilie, JO Gran and NS Benefctor are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely S. Caboto, Apl Portugal, Mary Lisa and Barge Jackson Vilie expected to sail on Wednesday, while three vessels viz Naga, Delmas Seychelles and Hyundai Advance are expected to sail on Thursday.
Two ships namely Kaede and Hyundai Advance due to arrive on Wednesday.
The cargo comprised of 11,460 tonnes edible oil; 4,498 tonnes wheat; 8,112 tonnes chemicals; 1,772 tonnes seeds and 18,309 tonnes containerised cargo.
Container ship M. V. MSC Aurora sailed to sea on Wednesday morning, while four more ships namely P&O Nedlloyd Damietta, Kaede, Liberty Grace and Chembulk New York are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total of four vessels viz Maersk Avon, MSC Mexico, Qem Star and Pearl of Fujarah are currently at the outer anchorage.
