The National Assembly session would be held after 10th of Muharram, and debate would be held on the speech of the President and the National Security Command bill in the assembly, said National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain.
Talking to Business Recorder at village Boli Simbli of Bujwat Area on Sunday, he said adequate efforts would be made for preparing the schedule of National Assembly sessions for next year, adding the purpose of chalking out the schedule of the sessions is to facilitate the members of both the treasury and the opposition benches to attend the session according to the programme with full preparation.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain said all out efforts are being made for holding the session every month at least for two weeks duration, adding both the treasury and the opposition benches would be taken into confidence in this regard.
He said that several standing committees have already been constituted, while two standing committees are in the pipeline.
All democratic institutions are successfully functioning in the country, and collective efforts should be made for the promotion of democracy and further strengthening the democratic institutions, he viewed.
The National Assembly speaker said with the revival of democracy the prestige of Pakistan has been increased manifold at the international level.
Similarly, the concrete economic policies of the country are also being highly appreciated by different foreign countries, he added.
Addressing the people during his visit to different villages of Bujwat Area, the National Assembly speaker said the present government has focused its special attention to the development of rural and far-off areas of the country aimed at bringing them at par with developed areas of the country.
Under the programme, special steps have been taken banishing the backwardness and ensuring basic facilities like electricity, health, education and tele-communication, etc in neglected and far-off parts of the country, he added.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain said the main focus of the government is to change the life style of the down-trodden masses living in backward and far-off rural regions of the country, adding the government mobilising huge funds on development of these areas.
The digital telephone exchange of 308 lines have been established at a cost of Rs 9 million as result of which the people of Bujwat would be able to contact with their relatives easily.
Apart from this, a branch of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has also been reopened at village Khojay Chak to provide modern banking facilities to the people of Bujwat, he added.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain assured the people that their problems and difficulties would be resolved on top priority basis.
