Al Italia airlines, which started a service to Pakistan this week, has assured vegetable and fruits exporters that it will provide 15 tonnes cargo space to fruits and vegetables destined for Europe.
The assurance was given to the Chairman of Fruits and Vegetable Processors and Exporters Association, Mateen Siddiqui, by the airline management.
Mateen welcomed the resumption of Al Italia flights from Pakistan after several years, and said that it would provide a direct access to the exporters of perishable products to the Scandinavian countries.
He said that the other European airlines, operating between Pakistan and Europe, did not provide a direct access to the exporters of perishable items.
He expressed the hope that al Italia would fulfil the needs of cargo space of the exporters during the forthcoming mango season.
