The Allied Bank of Pakistan Limited (ABL) would set up Credit Card Customer Services Centre in the Punjab capital next week to help people avail the e-banking facility in a comfortable manner.
It would be second such centre after Karachi. ABL Regional General Manager Khalid Mahboob told this to newsmen at the inaugural ceremony of an ATM machine at the ABL Cavalry Ground branch on Wednesday.
He also said the total number of ATM branches in Lahore has increased to nine and by the end of this year it would rise to 15, while there were 43 branches throughout the country, adding: "The ABL also plans to open five new branches in the city within this year."
He averred that the Allied Bank was working for the development of novel products for the customers, not introduced by other commercial banks so far, saying: "The ABL housing scheme would be introduced very soon, however, we have no intention of indulging in car-financing."
Khalid Mahboob said the Allied Bank had performed well in recovering the loans extended to corporate, SMEs and other sectors. It was able to recover non-performing loans worth Rs 7.8 billion during 2003. Furthermore, the bank facilitated the country's exports worth Rs 57 billion last year.
An ABL official said the bank made advances worth Rs 54 billion while the deposits during this year touched Rs 114 billion.
Earlier, Khalid Mahboob and Air Commodore Nadeem Anjum inaugurated a new ATM machine at the PAF Base branch of the ABL.
