Attock Cement Pakistan Limited at the 53rd meeting of the Board of Directors on February 25, 2004 has declared that profit in the six months ended on December 31, 2003 increased by 86.5 percent due to higher sales in the core market of Karachi.
The profit amounted to Rs 192.704 million as compared to Rs 103.328 million in the same period a year ago, the Company stated in the notice issued to the Karachi Stock Exchange.
Sales recorded an increase of 16.3 percent to Rs 816.906 million as compared with Rs 702.532 million in the same period last year.
The cost of goods sold, operating expenses and taxation were Rs 574.793 million, Rs 47.328 million and Rs 65.381 million as against Rs 568.353 million, Rs 51.090 million and Rs 30.934 million respectively in the same period last year.
The earning per share moved up 76 percent to Rs 1.76 from Re 1.00 in the same period a year ago.-PR
