Vice Admiral H.M.S Chaudhry (Retd), the first commander-in-chief of Pakistan Navy, who died on Friday evening was laid to rest with full military honour at the army graveyard here on Sunday.
Namaz-e-Janaza was held at PNS Jauhar parade ground, which was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Shahid Karimullah.
Former Chiefs of Pakistan Navy, Vice Admiral Muzzaffar Hassan (Retd), Admiral Mohammad Sharif (Retd), Admiral Karamat Rehman Niazi (Retd), Admiral Tariq Kamal Khan (Retd), Admiral Iftikhar Ahmed Sirohi (Retd), Admiral Yasturul Haq Malik (Retd), Admiral Saeed Ahmed Khan (Retd), besides a large number of senior serving and retired armed forces officers and elites of the city attended the funeral.
Floral wreaths were laid on behalf of Chief of the Naval Staff, Commander Logistics, Commander Pakistan Fleet, Commander Karachi, Commander 5 Corps, Officer Commanding, Southern Air Command, President, Navy League and a number of prominent citizens including relatives and friends.
