Leader of opposition in AJK Legislative Assembly, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said on Thursday in the present situation, efforts have been increased for the resolution of Kashmir issue at the international level.
The world community now has realised that an early resolution of this longstanding dispute is imperative, he told newspersons at his residence here.
Kashmiri, he said, are main party to the Kashmir dispute adding, without their participation, there would not be a positive outcome of any move for the settlement of this issue.
Sultan Mahmood also gave details of his recent visits to Britain and other European countries in which he held meetings with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, British Opposition Leader, Michael Howard, Incharge South Asian Department in British Foreign Office, Simon Tonge, Incharge Pakistan Section, Richard Lindsay and senior officials at Asia Department in British Foreign Office, Alexander Evens.
He briefed them about the latest situation of Kashmir issue and gross human right violations being committed against innocent Kashmiris by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
The AJK opposition Leader informed that he also addressed expatriate Kashmiris in various cities of Britain and gave interviews to different television channels.
About his two-day visit to Holland, he said he addressed a big rally in Amsterdam.
He also held meeting with Director Asia Department in Holland's Foreign Ministry Robert Milders and presented his written protest against illegal fencing by Indian authorities on the Line of Control (LoC).
In Belgium, Sultan Mahmood attended an important meeting presided over by All Parties Kashmir Committee (APHC), headed by James Elias in European Parliament in Brussels.
The committee announced to organise a Kashmir Conference on April 14 in Brussels.
