A supervisory committee led by PML district president and comprising DCO, EDO Revenue and other senior Revenue officers, has been nominated for the allotment of 15,958 acres state land to landless farmers in district Rahimyar Khan (RYK).
Talking to newsmen, the committee chairman Raees Mahboob said the land would be allotted on merit to deserving landless farmers after proper scrutiny of their past four years 'khasra gardawari' (land list) record.
He said in district Rahimyar Khan, of the total 15,958 acres land to be allotted to landless farmers, over 4167 acres would be allotted in Tehsil Rahimyar Khan, over 3802 acres in Tehsil Sadiqabad, over 1695 acres in Tehsil Liaquatpur and over 6293 acres in Tehsil Khanpur.
The committee chief further disclosed that a total of 8409 applications had been received from farmers across the district, and if these exceeded the target list, allotment would have to be decided through a draw.
He said 2-member sub-committees, comprising a local notable and a school teacher, would assist in the scrutiny of applicants at the village level.
