Rubbishing allegations of match fixing, former Pakistan captain turned politician Imran Khan said that the Indo-Pakistan ODI series was highly competitive and there could be no question about the integrity and genuineness of the five matches played in the course of twelve days.
"It is rubbish to say that the match was fixed and it is unfair to make such allegations," Imran told The Pioneer at the Gaddafi stadium on Wednesday night.
In fact, he blamed the Pakistan bowlers for the defeat and said that despite gaining early breakthroughs they failed to maintain the pressure on the Indian side.
"At one stage, the Pakistani bowlers put their side in a commanding position but gradually their performances faded away as the ball stopped to swing as it became wet due to dew factor," Imran added.
He also said that hiring a bowling coach is essential and felt the Pakistan Cricket Board should give this top priority so that the weaknesses in the bowling could be identified.-Agencies
