"The Extra-Ordinary General Council (EGM) and the Annual General Council (AGM) of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 10.30 am and 11.30 am, respectively at Karachi.
Muhammad Aslam Kazi, Secretary General of APNS, has announced that the EGM shall consider draft resolutions relating to amendments in the Articles of Association and Rules and Regulations of the Society as recommended by the Executive Committee. The Annual General Council will discuss at length the condition prevailing in the newspaper industry and take decisions to address the problems being faced by the member publications.
The General Council meeting will be attended by members across the country and will finalise its recommendations on the issues pertaining to the future of the industry.
The members will consider and adopt the report of the Executive Committee for the preceding year and elect members to the Executive Committee for the year 2004-2005.
The Executive Committee will also elect its office-bearers for the new term.-PR
