The Russian government has sold 891,341 tonnes of grain to domestic flour mills through intervention tenders aimed at curbing prices, data supplied by an exchange in charge of the tenders showed on Monday.
The total sold at tenders, who began on February 18, included 261,855 tonnes of third class food wheat, 497,520 tonnes of fourth class food wheat and 131,966 tonnes of milling rye.
Here are the latest results of Russia's 2004-grain interventions.
The Federal Food Market Regulation Agency, the official seller of the grain, said on its website (www.fgupfap.ru) that the government had acquired 480,000 tonnes of third class wheat, 786,000 tonnes of fourth class wheat and 292,000 tonnes of rye.
Trade sessions are scheduled to proceed until May 20 with the next auction scheduled for March 31.
