In order to facilitate processing of applications and issuance of visas to bona fide business travellers to India, the High Commission of India in Islamabad has laid down the following procedure.
(i) A drop box service will be available to business visa applicants from April 7, 2004. Business visa applicants can now deposit their passports with complete visa applications at Gerrys/FedEx for submission to the High Commission. Passports will be returned within a period of 21 days. Inquiries regarding these applications should be directed to Gerrys/FedEx.
(ii) Gerrys/FedEx will charge a fee of Rs 500 per applicant for this service (Rs 300 for Islamabad-based applicants). In addition, the normal visa fee of Rs 15 per applicant will also be collected.
(iii) The drop box service will be operated by Gerrys/FedEx offices at Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Hyderabad and Quetta.
(iv) Completed visa application forms should be accompanied by letters of invitation, details of business dealings in India and details of the applicant's company in Pakistan.
(v) Business visa applicants are also welcome to apply directly with the High Commission. These cases too will continue to be processed within 21 days. A separate counter for business visa applicants will also continue to function from 10 am to 11 am on weekdays.
