Hundreds of people held a demonstration against operation in Wana here at Karachi Press Club on Saturday.
The demonstration was organised by Jamaat-i-Islami (JI). MMA Member National Assembly Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, MMA deputy parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Nasrullah Shajee and other addressed the protestors.
Protestors were carrying out banners and placards inscribed slogans against the US President Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
They were also carrying pictures of Shaikh Ahmed Yassin, the martyred Palestinian leader of Hamas.
Addressing the protestors Muhammad Hussain Mehanti said the government was acting on anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim policies.
He said operation against the true Muslims and Mujahideen was conducted in Miran Shah, North and South Waziristan on the dictation of US government.
The MMA MNA said that MMA would not let the government to fulfil its wishes of killing Mujahideen and demanded of the government to immediately stop Wana operation and get the Shahbaz airbase vacated from the US soldiers.
MPA Nasrullah Shajee said MMA "wants to tell slaves of the US that religious organisation can not be finished" and added that protest against Wana operation would continue.
A resolution was passed on murder of 52 innocent persons in one year by terrorists in Lyari area, in which government and law enforcement agencies had failed to safeguard life and property of the masses.
The MMA leaders announced to hold a public meeting at Annu Bhai Park on April 08, which will be addressed by MMA top slots including Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and others.
