Former Test stars Polly Umrigar and Ashok Mankad on Saturday said that India, who is leading the three-match Test series against Pakistan 1-0, cannot lose the series from here on.
Former Indian skipper Umrigar said in Mumbai that Indians have proved that they are a far better side and can handle the demoralised Pakistani bowling quite efficiently.
"It will be a very tall order for Pakistan bowlers to bowl their opponents out twice to win a match even if they prepare a green top for the remaining two matches at Lahore and Rawalpindi as Indian batsmen are in great form," he added.
Umrigar, one of the seven former skippers to be invited to witness the remaining two matches by Board of control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Jagmohan Dalmiya but couldn't accept the invitation due to ill health, said that the ploy of preparing green top to aid Pakistani speedsters may back fire.
"In the first Test Pakistan bowlers were totally demoralised and their bowling spearhead Shoaib Akhtar went wicketless conceding 119 runs while Indian new ball bowlers Pathan and Balaji not only moved the ball in air but also troubled the inexperienced Pakistani batting line up," he added.-Agencies
