Foreign minister Khurshid Mehmud Kasuri on Monday left for a three-day official visit to China to further cement the bilateral ties, foreign ministry said.
Kasuri is visiting China on an invitation by his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing and will hold talks with him on bilateral issues and matters of regional and international significance, a foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement.
China is a long-standing ally of Pakistan. The spokesman said that the visit to China by Kasuri "is an expression of Pakistan's close and special relationship with China."
During his trip Kasuri is expected to meet Chinese leadership representing the government, the party and academia, think tanks and the media, he said.
