A well-knitted face-lifting plan costing over Rs 800 million has been approved for Pasrur tehsil. Under the plan, several development projects pertaining to public welfare would be completed in the area.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Friday that the government has taken the step for banishing backwardness from the area as well as to provide basic facilities to the local population. The work on this plan would be carried out in near future.
CADET COLLEGE: Sources disclosed that the government has also approved the project of setting up of a cadet college in Pasrur and this proposed cadet college would be developed over 148 acres of land costing Rs200 million.
A workers welfare colony, two workers welfare schools and a hospital would also be established in near future at a cost of Rs220 million in Chawinda.
The present regime was making strenuous efforts for resolving the problems and difficulties being faced by the industrial workers of Pasrur tehsil of Sialkot district.
The government had released Rs 90 million for widening of Sialkot-Pasrur road. Work on this road would be initiated next month.
In addition to this, Rs 3 million would be spent on the construction and improvement of sewerage scheme in Pasrur while Rs 5 million would be spent on reconstruction of roads, streetlights and water supply schemes of Chawinda.
A feasibility report was being prepared for setting up of Social Security Hospital in Pasrur and work on this project would be carried out in June this year.
A foolproof flood protection plan costing Rs 90 million would be initiated for saving vast agricultural land of the tehsil from floodwater of seasonal nullah Dek on permanent basis.
Under the plan, protective bunds would be constructed on both sides of seasonal nullah Dek for smooth flow of floodwater within its bed, sources added.
