Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) is vigorously considering to establish five new small industrial estates in various parts of the province.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that of the proposed small industrial estates, four would be set up in Gujrat, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan and the fifth would established either in Jhang or Toba Tek Singh.
Work on these estates would be started in near future, sources said.
Meanwhile, the government has set up a revolving fund of Rs 1 billion for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), of which over Rs 500 million has already been advanced to the SMEs enabling them to modernise and upgrade their work places.
The government has accorded special attention to resolving the financial problems confronting the small and medium enterprises on top priority.
The government may allocate Rs 3 billion for meeting the needs of SMEs to establish new industries or modernising existing units.
Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) has taken steps to support 'Handicrafts Shops' in various parts of Punjab making these shops more attractive both for foreigners and local people.
The government has also planned to establish 'display centres' at different airports where all types of products would be placed to the attract the people, sources said.
