Mobile phone operator mmO2 Plc has won around 400,000 new subscribers in Germany in the first quarter of the year, to reach just under six million clients at its O2 Germany unit, a spokesman said on Saturday.
"We were very close to six million (at the end of the quarter)," the spokesman said, confirming a report in German news magazine Focus.
O2 Germany is the smallest of Germany's four mobile operators, ranking behind Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile, Vodafone and Dutch KPN's E-Plus.
