The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) as else where in the country was observed here with religious zeal and fervour.
Various schools of thought observed the day in their specific way and the mourners took out procession from the Nishtar Park and marched through their traditional route, and terminated at Imam Bargah Husainian Iranian.
The main procession started from Nishtar Park around one pm and marched through Old Namaish, Sadder, M.A. Jinnah road, Bolton Market, Kharadar terminated at Imam Bargah Husainian Iranian.
Pakistan Moharraum Association organised the procession and Abu Tarab Scouts led the procession up to Eid Gah, from where Pak Haidry Scouts took over and led the procession up to the Imam Bargah.
Various organisations and individuals had set up first aid camps, water, drinks and milk sabeels (free drinks) throughout the route of the procession. The scouts had also set up their camps at various places to help control the traffic, and provide security to the procession.
The route of the procession was decorated with religious and welcoming slogans for the mourners. The banners and posters were inscribed with slogans for unity and brotherhood in the ranks of Muslims and sectarian harmony for the well being of the country as well as a service to the religion.
The other schools of thought observed the day by holding Quran Khwani, distributing food, sweets for the departed soul of the grand son of last prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) who laid his life for the supremacy of Islam.
