KPT's clarification

This refers to the news item published in the daily Business Recorder dated 30th March 2004. As per the factual position, "the Pakistan Ship Agents Association's (PSAA) contention that ship agents have to run from pillar to post to get refund from the KPT, for amounts wrongly debited by the KPT is totally baseless.
KPT, as a policy, has always endeavoured to refund all amounts due to ship agents as soon as possible.
To make the refund system more efficient and transparent, KPT's intra-departmental co-ordination is being increased for the benefit of ship agents. KPT's current automation will further improve the refund time.
All genuine cases of erroneous deductions from ship agents are being refunded within the reasonable processing time.
