Argentine export commitments of 2003/04 corn totalled 3.385 million tonnes by Monday, up from 2.99 million tonnes by March 26, the Agriculture Department said on Tuesday.
By the same date last year, corn sales totalled 5.985 million tonnes.
The government reported sales in the last two weeks of 100,000 tonnes of corn to Egypt, 75,000 tonnes to Chile, and 50,000 tonnes each to South Africa and Tunisia.
Argentina also sold 35,000 tonnes of corn to Turkey, 30,000 tonnes to Saudi Arabia, and 25,000 tonnes each to Japan, Jordan and Oman.
At the same time, the agriculture department cut its estimate of sales to unspecified destinations by 20,000 tonnes.
