Sindh Minister for Information and Technology (IT) Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that the present government was taking practical steps to attract the foreign investors for provision of Information Technology (IT) in Sindh.
The minister was talking to a delegation of STME Co (a USA based data security system) led by its Senior Corporate Vice President Andrew Calthorpe here on Wednesday.
The delegation included product manager of Western Region, Mahesh Vaidyanathan, sales manager of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Mohammed Sidduqi, senior manager, AMZ Technology Kanwar Jenious and Executive Director Operating Officer Farooq A. Khan.
Giving details about STME Co, the head of the delegation Andrew told the minister that STME was providing services in IT department to several countries in the world under its data security system.
He said his organisation has interest to introduce the data security system in Sindh specially in Karachi.
Andrew said the DSS will be formally introduced in government, semi-government and private organisations with the co-ordination of Sindh government.
He apprised the minister that courses about data security system will be conducted in abroad to train the educated young men of Sindh including Karachi.
The delegation head said the situation will be helpful in boosting foreign investment and better employment opportunities will be opened for the youngsters.
The minister assured the delegation of his complete support for introducing data security system and for provision of Information Technology and said that it is a good sign that foreign investors were taking interest in IT sector.
Provincial Secretary of IT, Yahya Waliullah and Additional Secretary Dr A.D Sanjani were also present on the occasion.
