Joyous Indian captain Sourav Ganguly Friday said victory against Pakistan on Pakistan soil was a special one with different charm.
To reporters questions after India celebrated test-series victory thrashing the host by an innings and 131 runs in the final, Ganguly said beating Pakistan had brought different charm and great feelings due to rivalry between the two teams.
He attributed India's triumph to team work and determination of the players. "Victory was possible as we have learnt from the past mistakes."
"Sehwag, Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Yuvraj and me had piled up big runs while Ashish, Pathan, Balaji and Kumble bowled very well," skipper said, adding both the batsmen and the bowlers performed quite well making the victory possible.
Asked if India could have won the series 3-0 had they not decided to bat first in the second Test in Lahore, he said: "Its not easy to win 3-0 when playing away from home. Pakistan played well to win the Lahore Test. They are playing at home and were bound to fight back. It was a question of playing well in the last match," Ganguly said.
On what was the main difference between Pakistan and India, he termed it unfair to pull down the Pakistani team just because their defeat.
