In your issue dated 1st April 10, 2004 the captioned advertisement had been quite prominently publicised by SITE Ltd, Karachi.
I have Alhamdolillah quite extensive contacts, both in Pakistan and mostly in a number of foreign countries.
I had made extensive contacts with potential huge investors for the setting up of labour intensive and export-oriented industries, in the industrial plots advertised by SITE Ltd Karachi, referred to above.
However, to my utter dismay, when the recommended parties of the Khoja Community applied for acquiring the advertised industrial plots by the SITE Ltd, Karachi, they were told that for the allotment of the mentioned plots, it was a precondition that the interested parties submit their feasibilities, in regard to the industries they wish to set-up in the plots advertised.
In the existing conditions, and due to the inconsistencies in the policies of our government, no honest investor will wish to give a false commitment concerning the type of industries he or she may wish to establish.
In the above context, I have sent a fax to the managing director of SITE Ltd, Karachi, citing the example of our very good friend, a much poorer country than Pakistan, namely Sri Lanka, where in spite of the quite long civil war, and the lack of raw cotton production besides their textile mills, they are still, in the export of garments, way ahead of our country!
On the phone, the Managing Director of SITE Ltd, Karachi, had indicated has willingness to implement my suggestions, relating to the waiving of the condition regarding the submission of a feasibility report for acquiring their advertised industrial plots.
I hope that your publishing this letter, would compel the SITE management to change their conditions.
