$10 million morphine seized near Afghan border

Anti-narcotics authorities seized about one tonne (2,205 lb) of morphine worth millions of dollars near the Afghan border on Friday, officials said.
The drugs smuggled from Afghanistan were found dumped in a remote mountain area after a raid by agents of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) near the town of Chaghi in Balochistan.
"The smugglers were about to load the drugs on camels for shipment to Iran when we seized it," said ANF official Brigadier Liaquat Toor in Quetta.
Toor said the smugglers fled. He estimated the cost of the drugs on the international market at $10 million dollars.
