The lineup of vessels to load sugar in Brazil's ports rose to 24 from 21 a week ago, shipping agent Williams said Thursday.
In a weekly report, Williams said that in the southern port of Santos there were 13 vessels lined up, up from 11 last week.
In the north-east, there were three vessels lined up in the port of Maceio and five ships in Recife, compared with two and four last week, respectively.
The harvesting of another forecast record cane crop started in March in Mato Grosso and Parana and is getting underway in Sao Paulo state in the key center-south region.
Santos accounted for 59 percent of sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports, with Recife garnering 21 percent and Maceio 12 percent.
