A Brazilian who claims to be clairvoyant is seeking the 25-million-dollar reward the United States offered anyone providing information leading to the arrest of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, local media reported Thursday.
Jucelino Nobrega da Luz has filed a complaint in federal court in Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais state, seeking support in securing what he believes is his due, the newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo reported.
Luz, an English professor by trade, says he informed the US embassy in Brasilia by letter on September 13, 2001 that the United States would wage war in Afghanistan and Iraq. In the same letter, he also described the location where Saddam would hide from US troops, he says.
On October 1 and 29 of the same year, and on December 26, 2001, Luz says he passed the same information along to US President George W. Bush, the FBI director and the head of the US Senate. He registered the letters with a notary public.
Saddam "will be in Ad Daer, near Tikrit. There you will find a poster of Noah's ark. He will be down a hole 1.8 meters long and 65 centimetres wide, covered with rubble and a rubber cover in a piece of land along the Tigris.
There will be bricks, dirt and garbage to disguise the entrance. But at that time, his right-hand man, who will be in France, will provide additional intelligence," the report quoted the letter as saying.
When Saddam disappeared, Luz again sent messages on June 5, July 17 and August 25, 2003 to the US consul in Sao Paulo, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Bush, the report said.
The US embassy in Brasilia did not immediately comment on the report.
