The Bangladeshi taka dropped on Thursday after some companies bought dollars to import scrap vessels ahead of long holidays, dealers said.
The taka was quoted at 59.03/59.50 per US dollar, against 59.01/59.40 on Wednesday.
Call rates were unchanged at between 2.75 and 5.5 percent.
The markets will be closed till May 4 for local holidays.
