PIA has increased the Additional Fuel Surcharge, taking effect from May 10, 2004. However, according to PIA sources the PIA fares have not been increased.
The airline increased the Additional Fuel Surcharge (AFS) to Rs 350 one way and Rs 700 round trip for Europe, UK, Canada and Far East and Rs 700 round trip for tickets purchased within Pakistan.
For tickets purchased abroad, the surcharge has been set at US dollars 6 one-way and US dollars 12 round trip.
For Gulf, Saudi Arabia and Middle East, the Additional Fuel Surcharge has been determined at Rs 200 one way and Rs 300 round trip for tickets purchased in Pakistan and dollars 3 one - way and dollars 5 round trip for tickets purchased abroad.
