Professor Dr Khalid Rashid of International Islamic University has been promoted in BS-21 in recognition of his Research, organising teaching and research guidance to M. Phil and Ph.D. levels and for providing leadership to the other developmental programs of the University.
Professor Dr Khalid Rashid completed his Ph.D computer sciences in 1978 from Nagoya University, Japan, said a press release here on Sunday. Dr Kahlid remained head of computer department of Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.
In 1984, he joined Saba University, Libya as a founding chairman of department of computer science.
In 1991, he joined International Islamic University as Professor and contributed a lot in embedding modern knowledge to the university and started computer training programmes for bachelor and master level students which were later on converted to BCS, MCS, BS, MS and Ph.D programme.
He had 30 publications to his credit in the international journals.
Professor Dr Khalid Rashid has the privilege of designing curriculum in software engineering, telecommunication engineering, information technology computer engineering and computer sciences from which HEC has adopted 80 percent as its curriculum.
He established an Information resource centre for WTO which has become a hub of training activities and consultative forum for issues relating to WTO.
He was awarded 3rd NCR IT educationist excellence award and gold medal for the year 2001, best teacher award 2000 by the HEC, the best teacher award 1999 of International Islamic University.
