Prices for Danish grains fell this week as the season came to an end, with both old and new crop prices sliding to seasonal lows, traders said on Friday.
Danish Barke quality malting barley traded at 136-137 euros per tonne for fob June delivery, traders said, down from 139-140 euros a week ago.
"It's the end of the season and most people are quite well covered, putting out the last of whatever they want to sell," one trader said. Traders said interest came mostly from trading houses.
New crop slid to 129-130 euros for October fob delivery, down from 134 last week.
"There are more and more sellers coming to the market, but the demand just isn't there yet, so they have to come down in price," one trader said.
Milling wheat was not traded this week.
"We're still waiting to see some sign of life, but right now it's completely dead," one trader said.
