The Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Liaquat Ali Jatoi has said that the next budget would be a business friendly as present government has planned maximum incentives for business sector to boost the economy.
Talking to journalists here on Tuesday, he said that the government was providing maximum incentives to entrepreneurs for which duty on raw material would be reduced. Tariff rationalisation exercise has been finalised and relief in this regard has been proposed for almost all the sectors.
Provision of incentives to business would lead to promotion of industries in order the face the upcoming challenges of WTO for which local industries would be promoted.
He said that recommendations have been received from the stakeholders for next budget and the Ministry has also recommended most of their proposals to incorporate in the next budget.
Jatoi also replying to a question of productivity said that the government would launch a programme for rural industrialisation with the collaboration of NGOs. He emphasised that it is essential to promote the productivity movements particularly in rural areas by providing better opportunities closer to their hometowns.
Although, NGOs can play an important role in alleviating poverty and generating employment by empowering the rural masses, the government also needs to take the initiatives transforming these micro industries into small and medium enterprises, he added.
