Pakistan Soap Manufacturers' Association (PSMA) Chairman M. Yakub Karim has expressed his deep sense of sorrow and grief at the brutal killing of noted religious scholar Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai and over 20 innocent Namazis killed in bomb blast at Imambargah Ali Raza.
In a statement, he paid rich tributes to the services of Mufti Shamzai for the unity of Muslim Ummah and propagation of Islam, Karim said that he would always be remembered as an enlightened, moderate and leading religious scholar of Islam.
Mufti Shamzai was a non-controversial figure and had no political title, he said, adding in his murder, Pakistan had lost a very patriotic, sincere and a perfect gentleman.
His services for the cause of Muslim Ummah and Islam would always be remembered.
Criticising the role of government security agencies, Karim said the high ups should take serious notice of the murder of Mufti Shamzai and over 20 innocent Namazis, which took place in broad daylight.
He said the government should issue special instructions to the Inspector General of Police to make all out efforts in tracing the elements responsible for this heinous crime and award them exemplary punishment.
Sympathising with the bereaved families, Karim prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal and peace and give courage and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear these irreparable losses.
