Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) Chief Executive Adeebul Hassan Rizvi on Friday asked industrialists to take advantage from the industrial package provided by Wapda.
Addressing the members of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) he assured them that the detection bills would not be issued for more than three months to common consumers and for more than six months to other consumers.
He said detection bills were issued to the consumers on power theft, fault in meters and low speed. He advised the consumers to change such meters to avoid repetition of detection bills.
He said provision of facilities to the consumers was his priority but he would not spare those indulged in power theft and they would be dealt with severely. He said to bring down pressure of workload from technical director he has appointed chief engineer Hesco at Sukkur.
He said that a place be fixed in new housing projects for installation of electric meters so that all the meters would be set up at one place. This would facilitate the services by Hesco staff as well as would help in checking power theft. Expressing his satisfaction on the working of Circle 1, he said it has brought down line losses and increased the recoveries.
To a question about use of power in wedding and other parties, he said, the consumers could get electricity legally by depositing draft of Rs 2,000 only in Hesco office.
The Hesco chief sets up a committee to find out the causes of issuing bills of streetlights in industrial area despite no power in streets.
Earlier welcoming the guest, HCCI President Amad Siddiqui offered complete co-operation to the Hesco chief executive and briefed him about the problems of detection billing, power connection in new housing schemes, illegal use of power to pushcarts and vendors along roads sides, payment of original bill in case of detection, establishment of city customer service centre and illegal use of power in weddings and functions.
HCCI Senior Vice President Najamuddin Qureshi and former presidents Mohammed Madni, Haji Mohammed Yakoob, Mahmood Ahmed, Yousuf Suleman, Abdul Razaq Memon and Seth Turab Ali Khwaja were also present on the occasion.
