Recently OGDCL has carried out Health, Safety and Environment Audit for Uch, Qadirpur, and Dakhni Fields. Presently Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is being carried out for Chanda Project District Kohat.
For all new Projects and concessions initial Environmental Examination (IEE/Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) are carried out and NOC obtained from respective Provincial Environment Protection Agencies.
Presently OGDCL carried out in-house initial Environmental Examination (IEE) for Neshpa Block District Kohat and obtained NOC from the respective Provincial EPA, while in-house initial Environmental Examination (IEE) for Fateh Jang Block and Dhodak Expansion Project has been carried out in-house and application filed for NOC to the respective Provincial Environmental Protection Agency.
Plans are underway to carryout initial Environmental Examination (IEE) of all new concession blocks acquired. Plantation is being carried out and maintained at field locations to improve the environment of the surroundings.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, I wish to reiterate OGDCL's commitment to the environment, which is strongly endorsed in its Corporate Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy Statement. OGDCL believes that good HSE performance contributes to business success and that Health, Safety and Environment protection is a shared responsibility across the Company.
The company abides by the Environmental, Health and Safety Laws, Regulations, Codes, Standards and guidelines set by the Government of Pakistan and trains and develops its workforce to work safely and follow good HSE practices.
We at OGDCL, believe in identifying hazards and reducing risks to as low as reasonably practicable in our operations, and continuously strive to measure, review and understand fully the impact of our operations on the Environment and to improve our Environmental performance standards.
We regularly identify the hazards and assess the risks associated with our operations and take appropriate action to manage them in an appropriate manner.
People at all levels in the Company are responsible for leading and involving the workforce in meeting health, safety and environmental goals and objectives and fulfilling standards of technical integrity.
