Speaker Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sardar Khalid has appreciated the role of private sector educational institutions for the imparting of quality education to new generation and urged the public sector educators to take effective measures to improve declining standard of education in the government educational institutions.
He said this while addressing on the occasion of Annual Parent Day of National Public School Chellabandi held here at University Auditorium on Wednesday.
Principal National Public School Rehmatullah Rehmani, Director Education Sardar Khurshid Ahmed also addressed the ceremony.
Speaker said that Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has planned to train the teaching staff of government owned education institutions to impart modern and Information Technology education to younger generation.
He said that government has allocated Rs 340 millions for the repairing of damaged and shelter less schools and construction of new schools in remote areas.
He said that in AJK, 97 percent boys and 90 percent girls are going to school, which is the high ratio as compared with Pakistan, India and other countries of the subcontinent.
Speaker claimed that AJK government has been spending on education more than Saarc countries.
Referring to dropping of medical college project by cabinet, Khalid stated that many medical colleges could be sacrificed to keep the harmony intact in the larger interest of Kashmir liberation struggle.
He argued that MBBS seats reserved in various colleges of Pakistan are catering the needs of doctors required for AJK for next 10 years and added that no any project could be started in AJK, which may create regionalism in the state.
Speaker announced to provide funds for the science laboratory of NPS and praised school administration for maintaining the high standard.
School students presented Kashmiri national songs, tableau's, cultural and dress show depicting the variety of national culture.
