A court in Brunei sentenced an Indian national and a Pakistani at the weekend to three strokes of the cane each for staying in the country after their visas had expired.
The two, who were also each sentenced to three months' jail, pleaded guilty in a magistrate's court on Saturday to staying in Brunei after their visas for a social visit had expired.
Indian national Kamaludeen Abu Pakkar Abdul Ajjees, 28, turned himself in to immigration officers while Pakistani national Mian Jan Ali Akbar, 36, was arrested in a rented house during a raid by Brunei authorities.
