A special drive will be launched against the owners of various factories and sale points for manufacturing and selling of spurious drugs and sub-standard beverages in the district.
This was stated by District Nazim Rana Imtiaz Ahmed Khan while addressing the meeting of Nazims of various UCs here on Sunday.
DCO Hashim Tareen, officers of various departments and Tehsil Nazim Rashid Ahmed Khan were also present in the meeting.
The District Nazim made it clear that no one will be allowed to carry on this heinous business, and asked the Nazims to identify elements involved in manufacturing and selling spurious drugs and sub-standard soft drinks so that strict action could be initiated against them.
The meeting took serious notice about wall chalking about sale of sexual and other medicines without 'trade mark', and directed the police to take effective steps in this regard.
Rana Imtiaz also directed the EDO (health) to check the contraband medicines and forfeit such drugs with immediate effect.
