Chief Election Commissioner Chief Justice Irshad Hasan Khan (Retd), on Thursday notified to hold by-elections for Nazim and Naib Nazims in two union councils of Balochistan.
The election will be held against the vacant seats of Nazim and Naib Nazim for Union Council Mughalkot in Zhob district and Kanjarmari Union Council in Khuzdar district.
According to the schedule, a notice inviting nomination papers will be issued by the returning officers on June 25, 2004 and the nomination papers will be received between June 26-30.
Publication of the list of nomination papers will be made on July 1, 2004 and objection of the nomination papers will be received on July 2-3. Scrutiny of nomination papers and the publication of names of validly nominated candidates will be made on July 5-6.
Date for filing appeals against the decision of acceptance or rejection of nomination papers has been set for July 7 and these appeals will be disposed before or on July 9.
Date for withdrawal of candidature has been set for July 10 and publication of the final list of candidates will be made on July 12.
Polling will be held on July 18, 2004 and results of the by-election will be declared by the returning officers on July 19, 2004.
