A member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) with prayer to direct the respondent government to take necessary action against staff of Pakistan embassy in Saudi Arabia on their failure in performance of their official duties.
The petitioner also prayed to the court to direct the respondents to take notice of the case of a Pakistani citizen Saeed Ismail Umar Jan in Al-breeda jail and take steps for release.
The petitioner has filed this petition over the request of Saeed Ismail who wrote a letter to him. LHC return PLF's petition
The Lahore High Court (LHC)'s office returned the petition praying to the court to allow bail to former chief minister, Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif.
The LHC's office raised objection that the petitioner has no locus standi in the matter, hence the petition is neither valid to be filed, nor maintainable.
The petitioner president People Lawyer's Forum (PLF) A.K.Dogar contended that Shahbaz Sharif is citizen of Pakistan, hence it is his legal right to come back to the country.
He said that the respondent government illegally and without lawful authority had sent him back to Saudi Arabia.
He prayed to the court to allow him to come back to his homeland.
NOTICE ISSUED TO ELECTION AUTHORITY: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to Election Authority in a petition filed by Mian Usman, Naib Nazim Data Ganj Baksh Town challenging no confidence move against him.
The petitioner contended that the respondent government has tabled no confidence move by using state pressure over the members.
He said that action of the respondent government is illegal, unconstitutional and against the provisions of Local Government Ordinance. He prayed to the court to declare the move against him as illegal and unconstitutional.
The court, after hearing petitioner's counsel at length, issued notice to the Election Authority and rose for the day.
