Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has announced its full support to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s candidate in the bye-election of PP-156 (Lahore).
This was claimed by PML-N Information Secretary Zaeem Qadri while talking to the newsmen here on Thursday. While appreciating the MMA support, he said that on the formal request of the PML-N, the MMA agreed to support Naseer Ahmad Bhutta.
Syed Ehsanullah Waqas, a MPA and MMA leader, said that Naseer was PML-N and MMA consensus candidate and they appreciate the candidate for his courageous stance against the army rule.
He said that PP-156 was strong hold of the PML-N, thus his party has the right to place its candidate in the forthcoming bye-election.
Naseer termed the bye-election as a struggle against the army rule and a step towards restoration of true democracy.
He said that the turnout in favour of his party candidate in this bye-poll would show the resentment against the government for not permitting PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif.
He was optimist that Pakistan Peoples Party would also support him to strengthen the opposition.
